The first few days of your little one’s life are breathtaking. Full of wonder and awe, a baby’s initial experiences are delightfully sweet.
Newborn photography is meant to showcase your baby’s first interactions with the world. From wiggling to expressing, it’s essential to capture the moment during this tender, fleeting time as the newborn phase quickly disappears within the first month. Through newborn session, you’re able to hold on to this special time and introduce your young one to your friends and family.
Tips From Albina
It’s natural to be nervous, but your loved one is in good hands…ours! Besides being there the whole time, put your mind at ease with our FAQs.
When to Book
For us to accommodate the best experience, please reach out at least 4 weeks before your due date. I’m happy to discuss your upcoming photography session and answer any questions. Let’s brainstorm your upcoming shoot.
Once the baby is born, the photoshoot needs to happen within the first 3 weeks. This is because baby’s are still used to being snuggly and sleepy in the womb, and it’s much easier to capture their delicate spirit at this stage. For a newborn session, we can position the baby in some adorably cute ways!
Note: Occasionally there is availability for last-minute bookings. While I have several annual clients booking family and special occasion sessions, please don’t hesitate to ask.
What to Expect
Photoshoots are best in the mid-morning to align with daylight and the baby’s first nap. When they’re sleepy it’s easy to position them!
Albina gets babies. She knows they can be fussy, noisy, and a little messy at times. Don’t be embarrassed. This is normal and part of working in newborn photography.
If possible, we encourage both parents to attend to create a nice bonding experience for the family. We will take photos individually, and then as a group. It’s important to have photographs with both parents individually, as well as family one.

How to Prepare
Newborn sessions may be the first public reveal to the world. Let’s make it extra meaningful. It’s always helpful to do some photography research! Anything on my Facebook page is available to incorporate. Backdrops, props, poses, it’s all here for your use. Although my studio is fully-stocked and sterilized with blankets, clothes, and adorable newborn props, we encourage your creativity in family mementos to incorporate. Please note, these objects need to be small. Most store-bought props are too big for newborns!
Please prepare to accommodate making the baby comfortable for a few hours: bring bottles, diapers, and toys if needed.
What Comes After?
Your photo-viewing appointment will be scheduled a few weeks after your photoshoot. This usually takes an hour and this is the time to select your favorites and package options.
